CVFD operates out of two stations with station #1 located at 221 E. Graham Street in the heart of uptown Shelby and station #2 located at 1751 E.Marion St. Both stations are centrally located to assist the citizens of Shelby and Cleveland County. CVFD is a combination fire department with over 40 volunteer members and 10 part time staff.
Our fire district was one of the first fire districts to serve the citizens of Cleveland County and was developed with the help of O. Max Gardner Jr, thus naming our primary district, Gardner Fire District. Our fire district is made up of 9500 residents and consists of residential, farmland, commercial properties, and soon to be up to 75 percent of the new, currently under construction U.S. 74 bypass.
